Overnight Lane Closures, Periodic Stoppages on I-66 West Between Route 28 and Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville for Overhead Gantry Removal

FAIRFAX - Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic traffic stoppages as crews remove overhead gantries on I-66 West between Route 28 and Route 29 (Lee Highway) in Centreville next week as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Monday, December 14
I-66 West between Route 28 and Route 29 Centreville

  • Three lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry removal.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.

The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
