Traffic Changes Coming to I-395 South Access to Duke Street East in Alexandria and Edsall Road West Access to I-395 South in Springfield
ALEXANDRIA - Motorists and area residents are advised of traffic changes going into effect at southbound I-395 to eastbound Duke Street (Route 236), as well as at westbound Edsall Road (Route 648) to southbound I-395.
Ramp from southbound I-395 to eastbound Duke Street
On or about Monday, May 11, crews will begin closing the existing ramp from southbound I-395 to eastbound Duke Street. Affected motorists will exit at the same point as those heading to westbound Duke Street, and will access eastbound Duke Street via a new ramp (see Map 1) and a new traffic signal. Directional signs will be in place. All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled or extended if inclement conditions occur.

Ramp from southbound I-395 to westbound Edsall Road
On or about Tuesday, May 12, crews will begin closing the existing ramp from westbound Edsall Road to southbound I-395. Motorists heading to southbound I-395 will turn left at the new traffic signal instead of exiting right (see Map 2). All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled or extended if inclement conditions occur.

Drivers should expect delays in this area and are asked to slow down, remain alert and watch for construction crews.
Work crews are following the most recent guidance from the federal and state government and are committed to the health and safety of all those who work and interact with the construction operation.
