Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail Temporary Closure in Great Falls Starts Oct. 11
Between Mile Markers 3.2 and 3.8 in Difficult Run Stream Valley Park
GREAT FALLS - Starting on Monday, Oct. 11 and continuing through Friday, Oct. 15, the Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail will be closed between mile markers 3.2 and 3.8 in the Difficult Run Stream Valley Park north of Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) while crews continue maintenance on the Potomac Interceptor sanitary sewer. Signs and barricades will be in place to alert the public.
All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
As a reminder, the Route 7 speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles per hour in active work zones between Reston Avenue and Jarrett Valley Drive.
Effective Jan. 1, 2021, it is illegal to hold a handheld personal communications device (e.g., your smartphone) while driving a moving motor vehicle on Virginia highways. Click here for more information, including details on the five exceptions to this law.
Please use caution and be alert to work zone signs, potential flagger or police direction, and watch for traffic shifts. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering or exiting the road.
Thanks for Giving Our Crews S P A C E
As work continues along Route 7, our crews are practicing social distancing. If you have questions or concerns about the construction, please give them the space they need to work, and call or email us instead of approaching the work site.
