Overnight Closure of the Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West Planned for Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14
Closure necessary to implement lane shift to reopen the ramp to two lanes
FAIRFAX – The ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West will be closed during the overnight hours Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14, for crews to implement a lane shift on the ramp. Following the implementation of the lane shift, the ramp will reopen with two exit lanes. One lane has been temporarily closed since late January for construction of a new ramp as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14
Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West
- The ramp will be closed Saturday night from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., and Sunday night from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Drivers will be detoured farther south to the Route 50 East exit, stay to the right toward Fairview Park, then take the left fork for Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal and stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.
- All lanes will reopen by 7 a.m. Sunday, and by 4 a.m. Monday.
Drivers should always use caution and pay attention to lane markings and roadway signs in construction work zones.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
