Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, June 1-5, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Tuesday night, June 1, through Friday night, June 4
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for paving. Traffic will be directed to exit prior to the closure to Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) South, then turn left onto Balls Ford Road to reach Route 234 Business.
Tuesday night, June 1, and Wednesday night, June 2
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North and Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North, then follow signs to the Braddock Road/Walney Road left exit.
Tuesday night, June 1, and Wednesday night, June 2
Ramp from Route 234 Business North and South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for paving. Traffic on northbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn left at Balls Ford Road, travel about two miles, turn right onto Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North, then follow signs to I-66 West. Traffic on southbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn right on to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South, and then follow signs to I-66 West.
Tuesday night, June 1, through Thursday night, June 3
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for drainage work. Traffic will be directed to Route 28 South (prior to the closure), and then follow signs to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North or South.
Friday night, June 4, and Saturday night, June 5
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. each night for crews to set barrier. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road, then follow signs to I-66 West.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
