Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, May 23-27, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Sunday, May 23, and Monday, May 24
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) South
The ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal on to northbound Route 234 Business, stay to the left and make a left at the traffic signal to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway).
Monday night, May 24, through Thursday night, May 27
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. nightly for drainage work. Traffic will be directed to exit to Route 28 South (prior to the closure), and then follow signs to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North or South.
Monday night, May 24, and Tuesday night, May 25
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North and Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramps will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North, then follow signs to the Braddock Road/Walney Road left exit.
Tuesday, May 25, and Wednesday, May 26
Ramp from Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night for paving. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 West, exit to Route 29 North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal on to Route 29 South, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.
Tuesday night, May 25, and Wednesday night, May 26
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night to implement a traffic shift on the ramp. Traffic will be directed to Route 50 East (prior to the closure), stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road on to Route 50 West.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
