Fairfax County Parkway Northbound Weekend Lane Closures in Fairfax Station Nov. 4-6
Single-lane closures just beyond Route 123 for paving
FAIRFAX STATION – Northbound Fairfax County Parkway (Route 286) will have single-lane closures just beyond Route 123 (Ox Road), weather permitting, Friday evening, Nov. 4 to late Saturday morning, Nov. 5, and Saturday evening into late Sunday morning, Nov. 6 for paving, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The left lane of northbound Fairfax County Parkway will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday, while the right northbound lane will be closed from 7 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday.
Drivers should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes.
A portion of the northbound Fairfax County Parkway lanes slightly past the southbound Route 123 on-ramp will be paved with a high friction surface treatment that aims to provide additional skid resistance when the road is wet, thereby improving safety for drivers as they navigate the curve located beyond the on-ramp during inclement weather.
Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones. Be alert to new traffic patterns and limit distractions.
