Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges, March 19 – 26, for Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:
Saturday, March 19
Ramp from Stringfellow Road to I-66 East
Ramp from I-66 West to Stringfellow Road
The ramps will be closed for excavation and demolition debris removal from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sunday, March 20, through Friday, March 25
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.

Monday night, March 21, through Wednesday night, March 23
Ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for guardrail installation. Traffic will be directed to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South (prior to the closed ramp), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, then continue for about one mile and follow signs to I-66 East.

Monday, March 21, through Saturday, March 26
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed nightly Monday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed nightly Monday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Monday night, March 21, through Thursday night, March 24
Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for barrier installation. Traffic will be directed to continue north, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left-most left turn lane at the traffic signal at Virginia Center Boulevard onto Nutley Street South, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Tuesday night, March 22, and Wednesday night, March 23
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for inspections. Traffic will be directed to exit I-66 East at Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville (prior to the closure), stay to the right to Route 29 North, then follow signs to Route 28 North.

Tuesday, March 22, through Friday, March 25
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South and the 495 Express Lanes South
The ramp will be closed Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Wednesday through Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly for bridge work and a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal to Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South or the 495 Express Lanes South.
