Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges November 20-22 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Sunday night, November 20, and Monday night, November 21
Ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. both nights for lighting work. Traffic will be directed to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South (prior to the closed ramp), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, continue for about one mile and follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday, November 21
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North
The ramp will be closed from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured to I-495 South, exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.
Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South and the 495 Express Lanes South
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for noise wall and guardrail installation. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal to Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South or the 495 Express Lanes South.
