East Church Road Daytime Closures in Sterling Jan. 10-12
Traffic stoppages during paving
STERLING – East Church Road (Route 625) between the western and eastern intersections of Oak Tree Lane will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting, Tuesday, Jan. 10, Wednesday, Jan. 11 and Thursday, Jan. 12 for paving, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
East Church Road will be closed to through traffic between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
Those needing to reach properties along East Church Road including school buses will have access; however, there may be traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes each.
Through traffic will be detoured via Oak Tree Lane back to East Church Road.
The paving of a third of a mile of East Church Road is occurring under VDOT’s Rural Rustic Road Program, which aims to preserve the traditional feel of a rural road while making surface and other improvements within the current right of way.
Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones. Be alert to new traffic patterns and limit distractions.
