Full Weekend Closure of Left Turn Lane from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) South to Balls Ford Road East Next Weekend, May 12-15
FAIRFAX – The left turn lane from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) South to Balls Ford Road East will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, remaining in place continuously throughout the weekend until 5 a.m. Monday, May 15, for crews to perform roadway widening and other intersection improvements as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Additionally, one lane on Route 234 Business South and two lanes on Route 234 Business North approaching Balls Ford Road will be closed during the overnight hours Friday, May 12, through Sunday, May 15, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
Details include:
Left Turn Lane from Route 234 Business South to Balls Ford Road East
- The left turn lane will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, continuously through 5 a.m. Monday, May 15.
- Drivers will be directed farther south, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at Coverstone Drive/Williamson Boulevard, then stay to the right and turn right on to Balls Ford Road East.
Route 234 Business South approaching Balls Ford Road
- The right lane will be closed nightly Friday, May 12, through Sunday, May 14, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- All lanes will reopen each day by 5 a.m.
Route 234 Business North approaching Balls Ford Road
- The right-most left turn lane from Route 234 Business North to Balls Ford Road and the left-most thru lane will be closed nightly Friday, May 12, through Sunday, May 14, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- All lanes will reopen each day by 5 a.m.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
