Gallows Road Reduced to Two Lanes Over I-66 During Overnight Hours Multiple Nights Next Week, June 5-9, for Bridge Work
A single travel lane will run in each direction in the northbound lanes

UPDATE (6/6/2023): The overnight bridge deck pours have been completed on Gallows Road at I-66. Nighttime closures will not be needed for the rest of the week. 

FAIRFAX – Gallows Road over I-66 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction during the overnight hours multiple nights next week, June 5-9, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for concrete bridge deck pours for the new Gallows Road South Bridge over I-66. Southbound Gallows Road will be closed with two-way traffic running on Gallows Road North during this period. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.

Details include:

Monday, June 5; Tuesday, June 6; Thursday, June 8; and Friday, June 9
Gallows Road North and South over I-66

  • Gallows Road South will be closed between Stenhouse Place and Avenir Place/Bellforest Drive from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two-way traffic will travel in a single lane each way on the northbound side of Gallows Road in that area.
  • All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m.
