Overnight Closures at the I-66/Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) Interchange Planned Tonight, Wednesday, June 14, for Final Paving of Ramps

FAIRFAX – Final paving of the ramps at the I-66/Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) Interchange will require overnight closures with detours tonight, Wednesday, June 14, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The westbound I-66 collector-distributor lane and the I-66 West ramps to/from Route 286 North and South will be closed for this work, which is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Drivers should expect delays if traveling in this area and consider using alternate routes. 

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.

Details include:

Wednesday, June 14
I-66 West C-D Lane at Route 286
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 286 North
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 286 South
The C-D Lane and ramps will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for final paving. Traffic will be directed to continue west to the Route 28 Interchange, take Exit 53A to Route 28 South, stay right for the loop ramp to I-66 East, then exit to Route 286 North or South.

Ramp from Route 286 South I-66 West
The C-D Lane and ramps will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for final paving. Traffic from both directions of Route 286 will be directed to I-66 East, take Exit 57B to Route 50 West, then stay right and follow signs to I-66 West.
