Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges August 20-26 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Sunday night, August 20
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West   
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for drainage work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West. 


Monday night, August 21, through Wednesday night, August 23
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North and Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for punch list work. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North. 

 

Tuesday, August 22
Ramp from Route 29 South Centreville to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole installation. Traffic will be directed farther south to the traffic signal at Stone Road, make a U-turn and follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Tuesday, August 22, and Saturday, August 26
Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 West

The ramp will be closed both nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole installation.
Traffic will be directed to continue north, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left-most left turn lane at the traffic signal at Marshall Road/Virginia Center Boulevard onto Nutley Street South, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West. 


Thursday, August 24, through Saturday, August 26
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North
   
The ramp will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for punch list work.
Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, take the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.

 

Thursday night, August 24, and Friday night, August 25
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 50 West
   
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for punch list work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Route 286 South, stay to the right to I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 50 West.

 

Saturday, August 26
Ramps from I-66 East to Route 50 East and West
The ramps will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole installation.
Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 123 North, stay to the right to I-66 West, and then follow signs to Route 50 West or Route 50 East.

 

Friday, August 25, and Saturday, August 26
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 123, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 123 North, stay to the right to I-66 West, and then follow signs to Route 50 West.

 

Saturday night, August 26
Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for light pole installation. Traffic will be directed to continue north, stay to the left and take the roundabout to Nutley Street South, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Saturday, August 26
Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street North
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole installation. Traffic will be directed to use the ramp to the Nutley Street South roundabout, then stay to the right to Nutley Street North.
