Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges February 13-17 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Monday, February 13
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramps will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for noise wall work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North. Drivers headed to Braddock Road/Walney Road will then stay left and follow signs to that exit.
Monday night, February 13, and Tuesday night, February 14
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 50 East
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier removal. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) South, stay to the right to I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 50 East.
Monday night, February 13, and Tuesday night, February 14
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier removal. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Monday night, February 13
Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for utility work. Traffic will be directed to continue north, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left-most left turn lane at the traffic signal at Marshall Road/Virginia Center Boulevard onto Nutley Street South, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday, February 13, through Thursday, February 16
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed nightly from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday, February 13, through Friday, February 17
Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Tuesday, February 14, through Thursday, February 16
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West
Ramp from Braddock Road/Walney Road to I-66 West
The ramps will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for noise wall work. Traffic from Braddock Road and Walney Road will be directed to Route 28 South. Route 28 South traffic will continue farther south, exit to Route 29 South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday night, February 15, and Thursday night, February 16
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 286 South
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier installation. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 286 North, stay to the right to exit to Fair Lakes Parkway/Monument Drive, turn left at the traffic signal onto Fair Lakes Parkway, then stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto the ramp to Route 286 South.
Wednesday night, February 15, and Thursday night, February 16
Ramp from Route 286 South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier installation. Traffic will be directed farther south to Route 29 North, turn left at the second traffic signal, and follow signs to Route 286 North, then exit to I-66 East.
Thursday night, February 16
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road)
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for sign installation. Drivers will be directed to continue farther west, exit to Route 29 North Gainesville, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, then stay to the right to I-66 East and follow signs to Route 234 Business.
