Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges February 27 - March 4 For Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Monday, February 27
Ramp from I-66 East to Nutley Street North 
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to midnight for a traffic pattern change. Traffic will be directed to exit to Nutley Street South, stay to the left and make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Saintsbury Drive onto Nutley Street North. 

Monday night, February 27
Ramps from I-66 East to Nutley Street North and South
The ramps will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for a traffic pattern change. Traffic will be detoured farther east to I-495 North, travel north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right to I-495 South, exit to I-66 West, then follow signs to Nutley Street North or South.

 

Monday, February 27
Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street South 
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to midnight for a traffic pattern change. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit to Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Station, stay to the right onto Country Creek Road, continue onto Virginia Center Boulevard, then at the Nutley Street traffic signal turn right to head south.

 

Monday night, February 27
Ramps from I-66 West to Nutley Street North and South 
The ramps will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for a traffic pattern change. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit to Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Station, stay to the right onto Country Creek Road, continue onto Virginia Center Boulevard, then at the Nutley Street traffic signal turn left to head north or turn right to travel south.

 

Monday, February 27, through Wednesday, March 1
Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West 
The ramp will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Monday night, February 27, through Wednesday night, March 1
Ramps from I-66 West to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South 
The ramps will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for sign drilling. Drivers will be directed to continue farther west, exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North Gainesville, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, then stay to the right to I-66 East and follow signs to Route 234 Business.


Monday night, February 27; Tuesday night, February 28; Friday night, March 3; and Saturday night, March 4
Ramps from Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North and South to I-66 East
The ramps will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Route 286 North traffic will be directed to continue north past I-66, exit to Route 50 East, travel about two miles to I-66 East. Route 286 South traffic will be directed to exit to Route 50 East prior to the closure, then follow signs to I-66 East.


Monday night, February 27, through Saturday night, March 4
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for guardrail installation, barrier work, and a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.


Tuesday night, February 28
Ramp from Route 28 North to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for pole work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther north to the Westfields Boulevard Interchange. Drivers traveling to Braddock Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard West, then continue to Braddock Road. Drivers traveling to Walney Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard East, then turn right onto Walney Road.

 

Wednesday night, March 1, through Friday night, March 3
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North   
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier removal. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 North, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.
