Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges July 10-15 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Monday night, July 10
Ramp from Braddock Road/Walney Road to Route 28 South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to Westfields Boulevard to reach Route 28 South. Note: This closure will not be implemented if it conflicts with other detours.
Monday, July 10, through Wednesday, July 12
I-66 East Collector-Distributor Lane at Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway)
Ramps from I-66 East to Route 286 North and South
The collector-distributor lane and ramps will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 50 West, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 286 North or South.
Monday night, July 10; Wednesday night, July 12; and Thursday night, July 13
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. for noise wall work. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29 North or South.
Wednesday night, July 12, through Friday night, July 14
Ramps from Route 286 North and South to I-66 West
The ramps will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. for guardrail installation and barrier removal. Traffic from both directions of Route 286 will be directed to I-66 East, exit to Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday, July 12, and Thursday, July 13
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for inspections. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay right to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Wednesday, July 12, through Friday, July 14
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Thursday night, July 13, and Friday night, July 14
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 286 North
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for striping. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 50 West, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 286 North.
Thursday night, July 13, and Friday night, July 14
Ramps from Route 286 North and South to I-66 East
The ramps will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for striping. Route 286 North traffic will be directed to continue farther north to Route 50 East, then travel about two miles and follow signs to I-66 East. Route 286 South traffic will be directed to exit to Route 50 East prior to the closure, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Saturday night, July 15
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
