Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges July 5-8 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Wednesday night, July 5, through Friday night, July 7
Ramps from Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North and South to I-66 West
The ramps will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for guardrail installation and barrier removal. Traffic from both directions of Route 286 will be directed to I-66 East, exit to Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday, July 5, and Thursday, July 6
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for milling and paving. Traffic will be detoured to I-495 North, travel to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, then stay to the right to I-495 South.
Thursday night, July 6, and Friday night, July 7
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for noise wall work. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29 North or South.
Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work and painting. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Friday, July 7
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for milling and paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and follow the roundabout onto Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.
