Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges November 5 – 11 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

UPDATE (11/7/2023): The following ramps will be closed an additional night -- tonight, Tuesday, November 7:
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 North and South Centreville
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East

The following ramp closures have been added to this week's schedule:

Tuesday night, November 7, and Wednesday night, November 8:
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for bridge work. Traffic will be directed farther north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Wednesday, November 8
Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 West

The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead sign installation. Drivers will be directed farther north to the traffic signal at Marshall Road/Virginia Center Boulevard, make a U-turn and then follow signs to I-66 West.

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Sunday, November 5, and Monday, November 6
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for milling and paving. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29 North or South.

Monday, November 6
I-66 West Collector-Distributor Lane at Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway)
Ramps from I-66 West to Route 286 North and South
The C-D Lane and the ramps will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sign installation. Traffic on I-66 West will be directed to continue farther west to Route 28 South, stay right to the ramp to I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 286 South or North.

Monday, November 6
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for milling and paving. Traffic will be directed farther east to Route 28 North, follow signs to Braddock Road/Walney Road, turn left at the traffic signal onto Braddock Road West, then turn left at the traffic signal to the ramp to Route 28 South. Stay left to Route 28 South, then exit to Route 29 South or North.

Monday, November 6, and Wednesday, November 8
Ramp from Route 286 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sign installation. Traffic on Route 286 North will be directed farther north to Fair Lakes Parkway. Stay left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal onto Fair Lakes Parkway West, then turn left at the traffic signal onto the Route 286 South ramp and follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Monday, November 6, and Wednesday, November 8
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead utility installation. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Thursday night, November 9, through Saturday night, November 11
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for drainage work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and follow the roundabout onto Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.
