Virtual Public Information Meeting Sept. 28 on I-95 and Route 123 Interchange Improvements

WOODBRIDGE – The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a virtual public information meeting Thursday, Sept. 28 on planned improvements at the I-95 Exit 160 interchange at Route 123 (Gordon Boulevard). At the interchange, I-95 averages about 200,000 vehicles a day and Route 123 averages about 62,000.
The anticipated improvements include:
- Replacing the northbound Route 123 loop ramp to southbound I-95 with a signalized left-turn to the southbound Route 123 ramp to southbound I-95
- Widening the southbound Route 123 ramp to southbound I-95 from one lane to two
- Realigning the southbound I-95 ramp to northbound Route 123
- Moving the Route 123 and 95 Express Lanes ramp intersection slightly south
- Adding a shared-use path along northbound Route 123 from Annapolis Way to Devil’s Reach Road
- Repairing and replacing the deck of the southbound I-95 bridge over Occoquan Road

In lieu of an in-person meeting, VDOT invites residents and travelers to learn more, participate in the virtual meeting and give feedback in the following ways through Oct. 10:
- Attend the Sept. 28 online Register for the meeting or to participate without registering in listen-only mode, call 804-215-0389 (use access code 532-209-530#). The project team will make a short presentation beginning at 7 p.m. and answer questions for about an hour after the presentation.
- Provide comments via the online comment form or by email to meetingcomments@vdot.virginia.gov.
- Mail comments to Mr. Mark Gibney, Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030.
Meeting materials and the presentation will be available online at virginiadot.org/95and123, including the recorded presentation after the meeting.
