INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT BEGINS NEXT WEEK AT I-95 AND MAURY STREET IN RICHMOND
Drivers can expect lane closures and detours during construction

SOUTH CHESTERFIELD, Va. — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin work next week on an interchange improvements project at I-95 and Maury Street in the City of Richmond.

The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow through the I-95/Maury Street interchange during peak hours. The project will address current deficiencies in capacity, geometry and safety. Improvements include replacing the signalized intersections at the ramp to and from Maury Street at I-95 with a single lane roundabout.

A public information meeting about the project was held on December 12, 2017. The total estimated cost of the project is $7.9 million. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete in spring 2022.

Anyone with questions about the project can call 800-367-7623 or visit https://my.vdot.virginia.gov/
