VDOT COMPLETES BRIDGE REPLACEMENT ON CARTERSVILLE ROAD (ROUTE 684) IN POWHATAN COUNTY
Work began in July 2020

SOUTH CHESTERFIELD — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) recently completed a bridge replacement on Cartersville Road (Route 684) over Deep Creek in Powhatan County. The road is now open to drivers and the detour has been lifted.

Work on the project started in July 2020. The original bridge, built in 1935, was replaced with a new bridge on the existing alignment.

Construction costs on the project totaled $2.3 million.
