RAMP FROM N. BELVIDERE STREET SOUTH TO I-95 SOUTH TO CLOSE FOR INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Drivers should follow the posted detour route

SOUTH CHESTERFIELD, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the ramp from N. Belvidere Street (Route 1/301) south to I-95 south starting Monday, October 17 for a long-term interchange improvement project.

Weather permitting, the closure is expected to be in place until early 2023.

Drivers should follow the posted detour route, listed as follows:

Take the ramp to Brook Rd./Chamberlayne Pkwy. south to W. Leigh St. west to N. Belvidere St. north to the ramp to I-95 south.

The project will improve safety and traffic flow by realigning the on ramp from Belvidere Street to I-95 south/I-64 east and removing an existing ramp from Brook Road. Also, crosswalk improvements near the start of the ramp (on Belvidere Street) will increase pedestrian safety and accessibility in the area.

Anyone with questions about the project may call VDOT’s customer service center at 800-FORROAD (800-367-7623).
