TRAFFIC ALERT: EXPECT EASTBOUND ROUTE 58 LANE CLOSURES FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS IN PATRICK COUNTY

SALEM – Drivers should expect lane closures on a section of eastbound Route 58 near its intersection with Route 697 (Midway Road) in Patrick County due to roadway repairs following a tractor-trailer fire that occurred on June 24.  The truck caught fire about eight miles east of Patrick Springs and six miles west of Spencer.

Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation will schedule work starting the week of June 29 to remove and replace damaged pavement.  Paving will occur in the eastbound right and left lanes of Route 58 and the right turn lane at Route 697.

The right lane of eastbound Route 58 near Route 697 is currently closed.   Drivers should expect alternating lane closures during daytime hours.

Weather permitting, repairs are expected to be completed before the July 4th holiday.
