SOME INTERSTATE 81 LANES HAVE REOPENED IN SHENANDOAH COUNTY
STAUNTON – All Interstate 81 southbound lanes in Shenandoah County have reopened at the crash site located at mile marker 292 near Toms Brook. The left lane has reopened at the crash site located at mile marker 281.5 near Edinburg and Woodstock.
Earlier this afternoon a multi-vehicle crash at mile marker 281.5 and another at mile marker 292 caused all southbound lanes to be closed at these locations.
Traffic was detoured off of I-81 at exit 296 near Strasburg and rejoined I-81 southbound at exit 277 at Bowmans Crossing. That detour has ended.
Changes are coming to Interstate 81 in Virginia. Visit https://improve81.org/default.asp for information about the I-81 Corridor Improvement Program
