Please note: The new bridge opened to traffic Oct. 26. Minor work with minimal traffic impacts will occur in the coming weeks until final completion.

This project replaced the weight-restricted (10 tons) South Oak Street bridge over Tripps Run that was built in 1953.

The new bridge does not have posted weight restrictions and features a concrete foundation, walls and deck. 

The previous bridge averaged 1,700 vehicles a day.

Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $555,000
Right of Way Acquisition - $35,000
Construction - $1.6 million
Total - $2.2 million

This project is financed with federal and state funding, including State of Good Repair funds used for bridges.

Benefits 

This project will improve long-term safety and operations.

Major Milestones 

Begin Construction - December 2022
Close Old Bridge - February 2023
New Bridge Open to Traffic - October 2023
Final Completion - Late Fall 2023
