This project, in cooperation with Fairfax County, built a pedestrian and bicycle bridge and shared-use path in the vicinity of Route 123 and I-495 (Capital Beltway).
Based on results of the preliminary engineering phase of the study, and extensive community outreach and input, the "Option 2" alignment was selected for final design.
Phase 1 - New Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge over I-495 and Shared-Use Path from Tysons One Place/Fashion Boulevard to Old Meadow Road/ Provincial Drive
During the first phase of construction, a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge over I-495 was built along with a ten-foot-wide shared-use path from Tysons One Place and Fashion Boulevard to Old Meadow Road and Provincial Drive via the bridge.

Phase 2 - Shared-Use Path along Old Meadow Road from Provincial Drive to Route 123
During the second phase of construction, the shared-use path along Old Meadow Road will be completed from Provincial Drive to Route 123 (Dolley Madison Boulevard).
Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $2.3 million
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation - $3.1 million
Construction - $8 million
Total - $13.4 million
This project was financed with federal, state and Fairfax County funding.
Benefits
The project improves bicycle and pedestrian safety and connectivity in the Tysons area.
