Virtual Public Meeting I-81 Widening Exit 137-141

Overview

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) welcomes you to the Virtual Design Public Hearing Page for the Interstate 81 Widening Exit 137 to Exit 141 in Roanoke County and the City of Salem. This project will provide additional capacity and improve safety by widening 5.14 miles of Interstate 81 from two lanes in both directions to three lanes in both directions from mile marker 136.6 to 141.8.

This virtual design public hearing was held in February 2021 to provide an opportunity for any person, acting on his/her own behalf or representing a group or governing agency, to give the department comments and/or suggestions on the proposed project.

VDOT strives to ensure that all members of the community have the opportunity to participate in public decisions on transportation projects and VDOT representatives are present to discuss the project and answer your questions.

A public comment period was held and feedback received on this project will be included in a transcript for review by VDOT personnel, citizens and other interested parties.
