SRTS Super Stars
The 2020-2021 school year has been quite different from previous ones, but no matter if students are attending school in-person or virtually, there are many committed people going above and beyond to encourage families to walk and bike.
Who's been championing walking and biking in your community? Is it a teacher, or perhaps one of your neighbors? Use the resources below to thank them for their efforts or you can even use them to give yourself or your family members a little pat on the back for staying active.

Press Release Template - Word
A press release can be used to provide information about your event so that it can be included in a news story, regardless of whether a media outlet comes to the event. The press release template is a Word document that includes the VDOT SRTS logo at the top. Instructions for customizing the template are provided.
Media Advisory Template - Media Advisory Template
A media advisory is different from the press release in that its purpose is to get media outlets to the event. As an invitation, the advisory includes information on the time and place of the event, as well as reasons why the press would want to cover it. This media advisory is written for Walk to School Day, but can be easily adapted for another Safe Routes to School event.
